Description

Micro-CT was performed to a Phascolosoma (Phascolosoma) stephensoni specimen. This sample was fixed in formalin and preserved in ethanol. Specimen was stained with 1% Iodine dissolved in 96% ethanol. Scan was performed with a Skyscan 1172 at a voltage of 60kV and 167μΑ without filter for a rotation of 360o. This specimen was scanned at the highest camera resolution with an exposure time of 315ms. This scan was performed for the visualisation of the retractor muscles of this specimen within the framework of MAPWORMS project funded from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement N° 101046846 . Specimen was provided by Luigi Musco (CONISMA) and scanned by Emmanouela Vernadou and Niki Keklikoglou.

This specimen was scanned at the highest camera resolution with an exposure time of 318ms.

Description

Micro-CT was performed to a Composetia costae specimen. This sample was fixed in formalin and preserved in ethanol. For this specimen, no contrast agent was used. Scan was performed with a Skyscan 1172 at a voltage of 60kV and 167μΑ without filter for a rotation of 360o. This specimen was scanned at the highest camera resolution with an exposure time of 317ms. This scan was performed for the visualisation of jaws position of this specimen within the framework of MAPWORMS project funded from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement N° 101046846 . Specimen was provided by Luigi Musco (CONISMA) and scanned by Emmanouela Vernadou and Niki Keklikoglou.

Description

Micro-CT was performed to a Phylo foetida specimen. This sample was fixed in formalin and preserved in ethanol. Specimen was stained with 0.3% PTA dissolved in 70% ethanol. Scan was performed with a Skyscan 1172 at a voltage of 60kV and 167μΑ without filter for a full rotation of 360o . This specimen was scanned at the highest camera resolution with an exposure time of 318ms. This scan was performed for the visualisation of the internal morphology of this specimen within the framework of MAPWORMS project funded from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement N° 101046846 . Specimen was provided by Luigi Musco (CONISMA) and scanned by Emmanouela Vernadou and Niki Keklikoglou.

Description

Micro-CT was performed to a Glycera tridactyla specimen. This sample was fixed in formalin and preserved in ethanol. Specimen was stained with 0.3% PTA dissolved in 70% ethanol. Scan was performed with a Skyscan 1172 at a voltage of 65kV and 156μΑ without filter for a full rotation of 360o . This specimen was scanned at the highest camera resolution with an exposure time of 315ms.

Micro-CT was performed to a Ceratonereis costae specimen. This sample was fixed in formalin and preserved in ethanol. Specimen was stained with 0.3% PTA dissolved in 70% ethanol. Scan was performed with a Skyscan 1172 at a voltage of 55kV and 181μΑ without filter for a full rotation of 180o. This specimen was scanned at the highest camera resolution with an exposure time of 316ms. This scan was performed for the visualisation of the internal morphology of this specimen within the framework of MAPWORMS project funded from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement N° 101046846. Specimen was provided by Luigi Musco (CONISMA) and scanned by Niki Keklikoglou.

Description

Micro-CT was performed to a small bivalve Musculus costulatus. This specimen was fixed and preserved in 96% ethanol. Specimen was stained in 0.3% PTA solution in 70% ethanol for 5 days. Scan was performed with a Skyscan 1172 at a voltage of 59kV and 167μΑ without filter for a full rotation of 360o . This specimen was scanned at the highest camera resolution with an exposure time of 1555ms. This scan was performed for testing contrast enhancing techniques for the application of micro-CT in marine biodiversity studies (http://www.microscopy-analysis.com/sites/default/files/2013_March_Faulw…). Specimen was provided and scanned by Sarah Faulwetter.
